Design & Liquidity
The Elemetal 1 oz Silver Buffalo Round features a design deeply rooted in American numismatic history. It is inspired by James Earle Fraser's iconic Buffalo Nickel, originally introduced in 1913. The obverse of the round showcases a finely detailed profile of a Native American, complete with a braided hairstyle and the inscription "LIBERTY," often accompanied by a distinctive radial line background. The reverse proudly displays the American buffalo, also known as a bison, standing on a mound, a depiction inspired by "Black Diamond," a famous bison from the New York Central Park Zoo. Inscriptions on the reverse typically include the weight, purity, and the Elemetal Mint logo, sometimes also with radial lines enhancing the design. While the original Buffalo Nickel design was created by James Earle Fraser, Elemetal's in-house design team crafted this modern interpretation. These rounds are considered an excellent investment-grade silver product, offering intrinsic collectibility and consistent market demand. They are recognized for their liquidity and visual appeal, often trading at a lower premium over the spot price of silver compared to government-issued coins, making them an attractive option for cost-effective precious metals buyers. Furthermore, Elemetal Buffalo Silver Rounds are often IRA-approved, adding to their appeal for investors.
About the Mint
Elemetal Mint was established in July 2015 through a strategic collaboration between three prominent entities in the precious metals industry: Provident Metals, NTR Metals, and Ohio Precious Metals (OPM). This merger united decades of experience, as OPM itself traced its origins back to 1974 when it was founded as Jackson Precious Metals. While Elemetal Mint as a distinct brand has been operating for nearly a decade, its foundational legacy spans over 50 years. The mint quickly became recognized for its diverse range of silver and gold bullion products. Among its most recognized offerings were the innovative "Snap Bullion" silver bars, designed with pre-cut lines allowing for easy separation without damaging packaging, and its acclaimed series of silver rounds, including the "Zombucks series" and "Privateer High Relief Proof series". An interesting fact about Elemetal Mint is its rapid ascent to become the largest private mint in the United States following its formation. It was also a pioneer in the production of ultra-high-relief silver rounds, setting high standards for design and craftsmanship in the industry.
